Fennesz & Kiki Hitomi

Austrian ambient artist Christian Fennesz joins us for a very rare London show. Using guitar and computer to create shimmering, swirling electronic sound of enormous range and complex musicality, Fennesz\' lush and luminant compositions are anything but sterile computer experiments. His legendary album with Ryuchi Sakamoto, Cendre, showcased his sensitive, telescopic recordings and inherent naturalism, and with a new album in the offing this year we should hear plenty of new material in our latest showcase with The Wire magazine. Joining him on the bill is King Midas Sound\'s Kiki Hitomi, who will be bringing the Enka-inspired reggae sounds from her debut solo album, Karma No Kusari.

Tim Hecker + John Bence (at The Station)

Few in the field of explorative ambient music have remained as questing and unclassifiable as Canadian composer Tim Hecker. Across his 15-year career he has moved through shades of reflective electronic noise, experiential sound design, and modern composition with a deft and distinguished touch. Hecker brings his foreboding, abstract style (The New York Times) to the unique setting of The Station to present his newest opus, Love Streams which takes its cue from the avant-classical orchestration and extreme electronic processing of his previous full-length album Virgins. Ages 16+ This is a standing event at The Station. 18.27 incl. booking fee

Forest Swords (in The Lantern)

Mon 16 Oct 2017 13.44 incl. booking fee The Lantern - 20:00 One of the UKs most significant electronic artists and composers, Forest Swords delves into new aesthetic territory for upcoming second album Compassion, due for release on 5 May. A follow up to 2013s Engravings, the new album is a creative response to the uncertainties and aggressive behaviours common to many in modern life. His ideas are manifested in compelling layers built from buzzing digital textures, field recordings, clattering beats and distorted jazz sax amid fizzing orchestral arrangements. In his own words:Like many, with all thats been going on since I started making the record, Ive struggled to see any kind of light at the end of the tunnel.,so I realised theres some sort of power in trying to create our own instead.
