Bad Sounds

HARE AND HOUNDS PRESENTS TUESDAY NOVEMBER 21ST BAD SOUNDS + SPECIAL GUESTS TBA BAD SOUNDS - https://www.facebook.com/realbadsounds Following debut single \'I Feel\' in December 2015, and receiving praise from everyone from The Line Of Best Fit to NOISEY and radio spins from Zane Lowe (Next Hype), Phil Taggart, Annie Mac and Huw Stephens at Radio 1, Bad Sounds return with the release of new single \'Avalanche\', out 29th April via Killing Moon Records. Co-produced by Duncan Mills (Peace / Spector), the Bath based 5-piece take their upbeat-pop sound to new levels; fusing cheerful pop hooks, fuzzy guitar lines and an undeniably addictive chorus, bringing sounds of the 70\'s and 80\'s into the 90\'s Brit-Pop era, with a twist. Bad Sounds play a run of UK festivals in support of the single including appearances at Field Day, Dot To Dot, The Great Escape and Glastonbury as art of the BBC Introducing stage line up. "Crisp electro pop, crunching guitar lines, the odd pleading vocal... it all adds up to a perfect pop confection" - Clash Magazine "The adventurous pop sensibilities of Bombay Bicycle Club with the funky leanings of Jungle" - The Line Of Best Fit "Bath-based brothers Bad Sounds revel in a woozy pop sensibility and a toothy grin" - DIY Magazine Doors: 7.30pm Tickets: 7 advance

Will Varley

rambling folk singer Will Varley announces his biggest headline tour to date. Momentum has been growing around the young troubadour since the release of his 4th studio album Kingsdown Sundown and this year he is poised to bring his music to an even wider audience. Darkly comic, often politically charged and always emotionally loaded, Varleys live shows have been drawing crowds across the world, and his headline tours have seen him selling out venues from Berlin to New York and everywhere in between. Last summer saw triumphant festival appearances at the likes of Glastonbury and Cambridge Folk Festival, with packed tents shouting along to every word.

Morgan James

AGMP presents MORGAN JAMES "A phenomenal talent whose feel for classic soul music is bone deep." - The New York Times The right vocalist can make you fall in love at first listen, elicit tears, or bring you back to a different era altogether. That holds true for New York-based soul singer, songwriter, and Broadway chanteuse Morgan James. On her full-length debut for Epic Records, Hunter, she casts an unbreakable spell with a powerhouse voice, theatrical swing, and a soulful poise. Morgan assumed co-writing duties on eight of the collections eleven tracks and even performed all of her own background vocals and harmonies. She is proud to note that no vocal tuning of any kind has been used on any of her albums. From the empowering farewell of Fed Up On You to the mournful rumination of Say The Words, or the soulful duet with Grammy Award winner Robert Glasper, "Let Me Keep You", she continually bares it allboth emotionally and musically. In addition to "Hunter", Morgan has released a live tribute to Nina Simone, "Morgan James Live", as well as an EP featuring some of her fan\'s favorite covers, "YouTube Sessions". Her latest studio album is her first as an independent artist, and "Reckless Abandon" is her most personal outing yet. Morgan assumed co-writing duties on all twelve tracks and sang all her own background vocals. The album is stocked with lush horns and harmonies, and stretches limbs between genres for a sound all its own.

Jane Weaver

THIS IS TMRW & MOSELEY FOLK PROUDLY PRESENTS WEDS NOV 29TH JANE WEAVER + SPECIAL GUESTS TBA JANE WEAVER - https://janeweavermusic.com/ Epic kraut-pop opera teeming with motorik rhythms and analogue synths. NPR A mind-expanding delight, devoid of retro posturing. Guardian Sparkling strangeness from one-woman genre-buster..superb. Uncut Intoxicating space-rock. MOJO Jane Weaver is Metamorphosing Very alone in a home-spun cocoon with a metronomic heartbeat and the phasing voice of her former and future selves. Modern Kosmology is the result of a scientist of popular song gone rogue. Here we find a model student of second-hand Kraut-rock, female punk, hard-subbed new-wave, synthesiser skip-finds and unpronounceable worldly feminine pop who\'s finally reached her eureka moment. From science to sance, Modern Kosmology sees Jane Weaver\'s melodic-protagonist channeling new depths of creative cosmic energy within. After the huge critical acclaim of 2012\'s Fallen By Watchbird, followed by 2015\'s exploratory "Silver Globe" LP winning her unanimous "record of the year accolades" and hefty measures of radio play-listing Jane Weaver\'s conceptual trajectory has sent her neo-kosmische penchants to the point of no-return. Flown too far from the nest into a wider vista where brave melodic feminine songwriting meets robust synthesis, brutalist composition and Letterist informed song-structure... this album, for many, might be the post-grad psychedelic pop album they never thought would happen. Self taught, self penned, self played, self produced, and all-autonomous Jane Weaver\'s Modern Kosmology, however, is by no means a reclusive mission. Heavily influenced by a cast of lesser-known spiritual muse (such as automatic abstract painter Hilma Af Klint and her fabled pre-surrealist secret society) Jane also enlists the physical skills of CAN\'s Malcolm Mooney amongst a skeleton crew of Mancunian drum-lords and well versed psychedelic axe-men to punctuate Jane\'s synth-loaded sonic architecture. Jane Weaver\'s unwaning yearning for psychoactive pop energy has just reached a new level of magnetism. As snowclones go, Modern Kosmology is the new Silver. Another Spectrum to add to the tension.
